ABOUT STOPWATCH.NET

A free online stopwatch that just works

Stopwatch.net is a fast, no-nonsense online stopwatch and timer you can open in any browser and start using in a single click. There is nothing to download, no account to create and no clutter to wade through — just a big, clear readout and the controls you actually need. It is the modern revival of the classic web stopwatch that millions of people relied on for quick, accurate timing.

Whether you are timing a lap, running a study session, keeping a presentation on schedule or counting down to the perfect soft-boiled egg, the stopwatch reads to the hundredth of a second and stays accurate even if you switch tabs. Press Start, and it simply works.

How to use the online stopwatch

  1. Press Start (or hit the spacebar) to begin counting up from zero.
  2. Tap Lap — or press L — to record a split without stopping the clock. Your fastest and slowest laps are highlighted automatically.
  3. Press Stop to pause, then Start again to resume exactly where you left off.
  4. Press Reset (or R) to clear the clock and your laps and begin again.

One toolkit for every kind of timing

The stopwatch is only the beginning. Stopwatch.net bundles four timing tools into one tab, so you never have to hunt for another site. The countdown timer counts down from any duration and chimes when time is up — ideal for cooking, exams, parking meters and quick reminders. The Pomodoro timer alternates focused work with short breaks and cycles through rounds for you, a proven way to beat procrastination. And the interval timer runs work-and-rest cycles for HIIT, circuit training, Tabata and any routine that repeats.

Accurate to the centisecond

Every reading is driven by your device's high-resolution clock and displayed to 1/100 of a second. Because timing is anchored to real clock time rather than the screen's refresh rate, the stopwatch stays honest even when you minimise the window or lock your phone — come back and the display is exactly where it should be.
